Black Cat Cruises are a New Zealand cruise, ferry and tourist boat company, operating in the Canterbury region. The company was established in 1985, firstly undertaking cruises for dolphin spotting, and visiting scenic and historic sights in Akaroa Harbour. In 1990 they expanded their operation to swimming with dolphins.
In 2000 Black Cat Cruises purchased Lyttelton Harbour Cruises, and the rights to operate the Diamond Harbour Ferry, which had run between Lyttelton and Diamond Harbour across Lyttelton Harbour since 1888. The catamaran MV Black Diamond has run this route since May 2001. The company also runs regular ferry trips to Ripapa Island and Quail Island.
