Red Eagle

MV Red Eagle, travelling past another of the Red Funnel Fleet.

The Red Eagle is a ferry that is owned by the Isle of Wight ferry company Red Funnel. She was built in 1996, the year after her sister ships, the Red Osprey and the Red Falcon.

Currently operating the Southampton-East Cowes route, she underwent a refit in late 2004. During this refit in Gdansk, Poland, she was lengthened, meaning that when she returned to service in January 2005, she became the largest passenger vessel to frequently travel across the Solent.

Red Eagle Non Extended

MV Red Eagle, before she was given the new livery and extended.

As a result of this extension, Red Eagle can be seen as the Flagship of Red Funnel's current fleet.

In the video games Ship Simulator 2008 and Ship Simulator: Extremes she appears alongside one of her running mates, the high-speed ferry Red Jet 4.
