The Stena Nautica
The Stena Nautica is a ropax ferry that is currently owned and operated by the Swedish ferry company, Stena Line. She was built in 1986 by Nakskov Skipsværft as the Niels Klim for DSB Färjedivision. She was sold to Stena Line in 1991 where she was renamed as the Stena Nautica, but was chartered to B&I Line for their Pembroke Dock-Rosslare and later Holyhead-Dublin services. She was renamed as the Isle of Innisfree. In 1995, she started services with Lion Ferry where she was renamed as the Lion King and in 1996, the Lion King II. She re-entered service with Stena Line in 1996, taking back her second name, the Stena Nautica. She was extended in 2002 to increase capacity. She currently operates on the route that links Varberg with Grenå. She has a sister ship, the Color Viking. In 2004, she collided with the Joanna in heavy fog. Her passengers were evacuated to the Stena Germanica and was towed back to Varberg for repairs. She re-entered service four months later. Her current port of registry is Göteborg, Sweden.
