[[File:Stexp.jpg|thumb|316px|right|The Stena Explorer]]The Stena Explorer is a HSS 1500 high-speed catamaran ferry that is both owned and operated by the ferry company [[Stena Line]]. She was built in 1996 by Aker Finnyards, Rauma for the company where she was placed on the route that links [[Port of Holyhead|Holyhead]] with [[Dún Laoghaire Harbour|Dún Laoghaire]]. The HSS 1500 catamarans are the largest high-speed catamaran ferries in the world, but no cabins are available as the Irish Sea crossing is substantially shorter than with a full sized cruiseferry. The Stena Explorer has the ability to accommodate 1,500 passengers and can carry 375 vehicles. She also provides 800 lanemetres. She has two sister ships, the [[HSC Stena Voyager|Stena Voyager]] and the [[HSC HSS Discovery|HSS Discovery]]. Her current port of registry is London, England.
