The Gardenia is a ferry owned by the Belgian ferry company TransEuropa Ferries. She was built in 1978 by Schichau Unterwesser AG in Germany as the European Enterprise for Townsend Thoresen. In 1987, Townsend Thoresen became P&O European Ferries and the European Enterprise became the European Endeavour for service on the Irish Sea. In 2002, she was sold off to TransEuropa Ferries where she was renamed as the Gardenia and was placed on the Ostend-Ramsgate freight service. The Gardenia can accommodate 107 passengers. She has three other sister ships, the Lina Trader, the Penelope and the Via Mare.
