The European Trader is a freight vessel that is currently owned and operated by the British ferry company P&O Ferries. She was built in 1978 by Hitachi Zosen Corporation, Japan for DFDS as the Dana Maxima. In 1999, she was acquired by the DFDS subsidary DFDS Tor Line and was renamed as the Tor Maxima. Finally in 2008, after over 30 years in service with DFDS, she was sold to P&O Ferries where she was again renamed, this time as the European Trader. She was placed on the route that links Middlesbrough with Rotterdam. She can only accommodate 12 passengers and provides over 2700 lanemetres worth of freight. Her current port of registry is Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
