The Moby Ale is a small multi puropse ferry that is currently owned and operated by the Italian ferry company Moby Lines. She was built in 1969 by Aalberg Værft in Denmark as the Mikkel Mols for Mols-Linien, a Danish ferry company. In 1979, she was transferred to Viking Line, however the service was unsuccessful, and she was renamed as the Teisten and was given to Strandfaraskip Landsins the following year. In 1996, she was sold to Moby Lines whee she was renamed Moby Ale and placed on the route that links Portoferraio with Piombino. She has three sister ships, the Al Aboud, the Smyrill and the Istra. Her current port of registry is Napoli, Italy.
