The new Spirit of France

The Spirit of France is a cross channel ferry that is currently under construction for the British ferry company P&O Ferries. She is being built at STX Europe Shipyards, Finland for the company. She was initially to be named Olympic Pride but due to the word olympic being copyrighted, she had to be renamed as the Spirit of France. She will enter service on the route that links Dover with Calais and will replaced the ageing Pride of Calais. She has a sister ship, the Spirit of Britain, which has already entered service on the Dover-Calais route, replacing the Pride of Dover. The Spirit of France is due to enter service in Autumn 2011
