The Stena Britannica is the second of the two brand new superferries that are currently owned and operated by the ferry company Stena Line. She was built in 2010 by the Wadan Yards MTW GmbH in Germany for the Stena subsidary Stena Rederi Ab where she was placed on the route that links Harwich with Hoek van Holland. She has a slightly older and identical sister ship, the Stena Hollandica. The two ferries are the biggest ever passenger ferries built for Stena Line, weighing over 60,000 GRT. She has the ability to accommodate 1,200 passengers and provides 5,500 lanemetres. Her current port of registry is Harwich, England.
