the ferry company Stena Line. She currently operates on the route that links Birkenhead with Belfast. She was built in 2005 by Cantiere Navale Visentini as the Mersey Viking for Norse Merchant Ferries, a subsidary of Norfolkline. In 2010, the Mersey Viking was renamed as the Mersey Seaways when Norfolkline merged with DFDS Seaways. The following year, she was chartered to Stena Line where she was repainted in Stena livery and renamed again, this time as the Stena Mersey. She has three sister ships, the Stena Lagan, the Celtic Horizon and the Cartour Gamma. She has the ability to accommodate 975 passengers and can carry 480 vehicle. She also provides 2,885 lanemetres. Her current port of registry is Belfast, United Kingdom
