MV Black Diamond is a New Zealand ferry that operates between Diamond Harbour and Lyttelton Harbour, South Island, across Lyttelton Harbour. The vessel is a 12 m aluminium alloy catamaran, powered by two 225hp Perkins engines, and can carry up to 45 passengers. She was launched in May 2001, purpose built by Q West, Wanganui, to operate this route. The ferry runs approximately hourly, taking eight minutes each way.
A ferry has run this route since 1888. MV Black Diamond replaced the historic MV Onawe, which had run the route since around 1914.
