The Caledonian Isles

The Caledonian Isles is a roro ferry that is currently owned and operated by the Scottish ferry company Caledonian MacBrayne. She was built in 1993 by Richards Shipbuilders in Lowestoft for the company where she was placed on the route that links Ardrossen with Brodick. Her design is based on the earlier Isle of Mull, which was a popular ferry to travel on. She has the largest capacity in the fleet being able to accommodate approximately 1,000 passengers and 110 cars. Despite this, she is not the largest ferry in the fleet. She has a fully enclosed car deck that is sealed by watertight doors. He facilities include toilets, an outer deck, an observation deck, a cafe, a shop, several lounges and a bar. She has no sister ships. Her current port of registry is Glasgow, UK
