The Finlaggan

The Finlaggan is a roro ferry that is currently owned and operated by te Scottish ferry company Caledonian MacBrayne. She was built in 2011 by Remontowa, Poland for the company where she entered service on the route that links Islay with Kennacraig, replacing the ageing Isle of Arran. Her maiden voyage was postponed due to numerous problems. Firstly, the vessel suffered engine problems. After that was sorted, she experienced a problem with her bow doors, so sh was temporarily withdrawn from service until the problems were fixed. The Finlaggan's facilities include lifts, an arcade, a café, two outer seating areas, multiple lounges, a play area, a restaurant and a shop. She is 90 metres long, has the ability to accommodate approximately 550 passengers and 85 cars. She travels at a speed of 16 knots. The Finlaggan has no sister ships. Her current port of registry is Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom
