The Hrossey is a multi purpose roro ferry that is currently owned and operated by the Scottish ferry company Northlink Ferries. She was built in 2002 by Aker Finnyards, Finland for the company where she was placed on the route that links Aberdeen with Lerwick, occasionally stopping at Kirkwall as well. In April 2007, she was refitted with extra cabins, increasing the total to 356. She can accommodate 600 passengers and provides 470 lanemetres worth of freight. She has only one sister ship, the Hjaltland. Her current port of registry is Lerwick, UK.
