The Spirit of British Columbia is the first of the two S Class ferry owned and operated by the Canadian ferry company, BC Ferries. She is the largest of the BC Ferries fleet. She was built in 1993 by Integrated Ferry Constructors Ltd, Victoria, British Columbia for BC Ferries and was placed on the route linking Tsawwassen and Swartz Bay. She has a sister ship, the Spirit of Vancouver Island. The S Class ferries are also known as the 'Super Ferries'. They have only once been succeeded as the flagships, by the infamous PacifiCat fleet, which were sold off.
